Annual Regatta Fundraising Event

The Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron at Kirribilli is hosting the annual Stepping Stone House Regatta on the afternoon on Thursday, 14 March 2013. The race will start at 2.00 pm.

As always, it will be a fun day for sailors, a competitive race, followed by a friendly get together at the Squadron to swap stories and then enjoy a casual dinner and prize giving. Every boat in the fleet can win a prize, with many challenges within the fleet. For you to participate and sponsor a yacht please return the entry form by 21 February 2013. We look forward to you joining us for a great nautical day of fun and competition in support of a truly worthy cause.

Again a feature of the afternoon will be a Bledisloe Match Race between two Farr 40’s. Last year we had a spectacular day with 1987 Rugby World Cup winning Captain, David Kirk and 1999 Australian Rugby winning team member, Richard Harry. In addition we will host other match races between participants. The AIM of this Regatta is to raise at least $75,000 to help set up and run our two facilities.

For Non-Sailors
There is a Bridge morning at the Squadron commencing at 10.00am. Then one can choose to join a cruiser to watch the race and join the festivities at the Club afterwards including buffet and drinks. The cost is $115 ($75 tax deductible donation). For Bridge and lunch only the cost is $65 ($45 tax deductible donation).

Sydney Bridge Run 2012

Due to the success and enjoyment of the last two Sydney Bridge Runs in 2009 and 2010, the residents both past and present and staff of Stepping Stone House have committed to donning on the sneakers and pulling on the shorts and t-shirts to run and raise money for the house again this year in September 2012.

The past two runs have seen a few members of the house run some unbelievable times which gives them not only some much needed confidence but a goal for this year. The benefits from the run are many - both physically and emotionally and prove to be a really good way for the residents to participate in raising money for the house that gives them so much.

It was unfortunate we didn't get to do the Sydney Bridge Run in 2011 due to renovations and development of the new Kennards House. So we expect that for this year, we will be able to release our pent up energy in an extra spectacular performance.

We expect training will commence these July school holidays, in readiness for the run in September. We are hoping that our sponsors will continue to come to the party - Brooks, Athletes Foot, and our many friends of the house who individually sponsor the kids in their efforts.

Our goal in 2012 - to raise $20,000, which will pay for some of the running costs of the house. You too can help!

You can sponsor the kids yourself and support them in this challenge - a direct link will be found closer to the time. Alternatively you can take on the challenge yourself and have your family and friends sponsor you! The more people we have running, the more networks of supporters we can reach out to.

This is a great team building exercise for one and all and we look forward to your support in 2012.
